The UG Programs Office offers a credit-bearing Social Enterprise Internship Program (SBMT 2200) in the Winter and Summer terms to strengthen students’ awareness in community services and social entrepreneurship. It also provides students with the opportunity to apply their skills to real-world challenges facing NGOs and social enterprises. All participants of SBMT 2200 are eligible to apply for the Public Service Internship Scholarship (PSIS), sponsored by the Dr. Karen Lee Memorial Fund with the objective to encourage business students to serve the community by taking up internships at NGOs or Social Enterprises, and to recognize those with outstanding performance as nominated by their employers.
Up to now, a total of 74 students have been selected as PSIS awardees. Below is the list of the four awardees in the 2021/22 Summer term. Each of them will receive HK$20,000 as a recognition of their outstanding internship performance:
- CHANG, Hoi Yan (Year 2, BBA in Finance)
- HON, Yan Ying (Year 1, BBA in Professional Accounting)
- MA, Tsz Ching (Year 1, BBA in Finance)
- WU, Ka Ching (Year 1, BBA Undeclared Major)
Congratulations on to the Scholarship recipients!
Meanwhile, another batch of business undergraduates are working as summer interns for SBMT 2200 Social Enterprise Internship Program until the end of August 2023. We hope they will gain valuable working experiences and be able to achieve a PSIS for their outstanding internship performance as well.
