To kick start the orientation, Prof. Kar Yan Tam and Prof. Allen Huang were gave a welcome speech and offered words of advice to all new students for beginning a new chapter of their lives at HKUST. Following that, the HKUSTSU Band Society and Dance Society performed on stage and added some fun and energy to the event. In addition, student representatives of the Business Cohort Community and most importantly, our Peer Mentoring Program Committee (PMC), sponsored by the Karen Lee Center, were invited to introduce the resources and support available for new students. The PMC promoted the Peer Mentoring Program and also the Peer Mentoring Committee during the session.
What’s more, our alumnus Mr. Benedict Yuen shared the experience of his slash career as well as tips to succeed in the university journey. Last but not least, the orientation ended with a lucky draw and photo-taking to capture the precious moment.
