The HKUST Business School warmly welcomed its new undergraduate cohort at the School Welcome and Orientation 2026 held on 25 August at the S H Ho Sports Hall. Bringing together more than 1,000 freshmen from 37 countries and regions, the event celebrated the beginning of an exciting new chapter for students joining the School’s diverse and vibrant community.
Prof. Frederik ANSEEL, Dean of the School of Business and Management, and Prof. Kam Wing SIU, Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs, delivered inspiring welcome remarks, encouraging students to embrace new opportunities, pursue their aspirations and make the most of their university experience.
Freshmen took part in a series of interactive activities, including a paper-plane exercise and a goal-setting session, designed to inspire reflection on their ambitions and future goals while fostering connections with their new classmates. The programme was further energised by performances from the KSA Band and the Dance Society, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
The event concluded with a memorable group photo session, capturing the excitement, enthusiasm and aspirations of the incoming cohort. With new friendships formed and goals set, our freshmen are ready to embark on a rewarding and transformative journey at HKUST.
