Interning at Storius Limited has been a transformative experience that has expanded my horizons and equipped me with valuable skills. From the moment I joined, I was captivated by the company's mission to connect people and places through resonant stories. Unlike traditional for-profit organizations, Storius prioritizes community well-being and fosters a democratic and collaborative work environment. I had the opportunity to contribute to decision-making processes and even suggested a new feature that will soon be launched. Overall, my internship at Storius Limited has been an invaluable journey that has prepared me for future endeavors and enriched my perspective on work and life.

During my internship, I expected to learn practical skills like data handling and administrative tasks. However, I gained so much more. The NGO, Shih Wing Ching Foundation, taught me the importance of diversity and inclusion. Working alongside employees with disabilities shattered my preconceived notions. I witnessed their outstanding work performance and realized that our biases hinder their job opportunities. I learned to appreciate everyone's strengths, regardless of their background or abilities. Overall, I am grateful for this internship experience and the lessons it taught me. I have developed a caring and respectful attitude towards others, which will shape my future behavior. I am also thankful for the incredible supervisor and friend I met during this unforgettable journey.

During my time at Storius Limited, I learnt a series of meaningful lessons. Thanks to my supervisor and fellow colleagues' support, I could unleash my potential and strive for excellence in my internship. I could also gain the most insights related to innovation and cultural tourism by actively participating in the operations and projects of multiple departments. Undertaking an internship at Hong Kong Blind Union, I am grateful to be part of the many who work towards the betterment of the visually impaired in Hong Kong. It has been an eye-opening journey in which I have gained a deeper understanding in the running of a social enterprise. Through involving myself in public education and app promotion, I have realized the importance of accessibility and putting myself in the shoes of others. Thank you, Dr. Karen Lee Memorial Fund, for granting me the opportunity to bring on positive social impacts in society.

My internship experience at Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JAHK) has been both rewarding and fruitful. I was able to work with members of the JAHK team on various youth-serving programs and assist youth in exploring their interests and opportunities in the business field. During the internship, I took a deep dive into the program planning processes and learned a lot from the working experiences of JAHK colleagues. Thank you Dr. Karen Lee Memorial Fund for supporting such a meaningful program. This program has broadened my horizons, facilitated my personal growth and helped me explore possibilities for careers. I could not have asked for a better internship experience to build a foundation for my career.

The SBMT2200 Social Enterprise Internship Program was a rewarding experience for me to gain exposure to the world of social enterprises. Having been able to organize large-scale events working with various business partners, I have gained a better understanding of social enterprises. Throughout the entire journey, I have acquired soft skills for the workplace, including how to handle crises promptly and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, but most importantly, it has broadened my horizons. Thank you for the support from Dr. Karen Lee Memorial Fund and the opportunity for me to work in The Hong Kong Council of Social Service - Social Enterprise Business Centre as an intern.

I am grateful to take part in Make-A-Wish’s mission of granting life-changing wishes to children with serious illnesses, and spreading the positive message that there are always strengths, hope and joy in life. It was a rewarding opportunity to be engaged in different charity fundraising projects and to meet people who devoted wholeheartedly to helping the children in need. This was my first internship experience and it was indeed fruitful and unforgettable. Working at an NGO had taught me more than skills needed in the workplace, it deepened my understanding on the needs of the society. Furthermore, it is a great opportunity to meet new friends and to learn from seniors as they share about their experiences. ‘Small steps, Big changes’. The internship is not only a ‘lesson in the field’, but also a chance to contribute to a meaningful cause and meet like-minded people whom I can learn from. With this internship, I had exposure to society and gained more knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibilities. By attending business exhibits and reaching out to real businesses, I further recognized my strengths and weaknesses. The first American friend I met in Fair Trade Hong Kong, taught me about the world outside HK. I realized the true meaning of doing business is to solve problems in society. This conviction will carry on as I grow up and pursue my business career.

Without joining the SBMT2200 Social Enterprise Internship Program, I never would have been able to explore the social sector, and would not be the person I am today.
