The SBM Peer Mentoring Program Training Day was successfully held on August 22, 2026, bringing together over 120 Peer Mentors from the School of Business and Management. The event marked an inspiring start to the new academic year, providing opportunities for mentors to connect, collaborate, and prepare for their important role in supporting incoming students.

The day began with a welcome address and introduction to the program objectives by Professor Tat Koon Koh, Associate Dean (UG Programs) and Director of Karen Lee Student Mentoring Center, who highlighted the importance of peer mentorship in fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for new students. Mentors were introduced to the goals of the Peer Mentoring Program and gained a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities in helping freshmen transition to university life. The event was followed by a series of engaging training activities facilitated by the Inter Cultural Education (ICE). Through interactive challenges and experiential learning exercises, participants strengthened their communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while building trust and bonding with fellow mentors.

The enthusiasm, dedication, and active participation demonstrated throughout the Training Day reflected the mentors' commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive community for new students. Equipped with valuable mentoring skills and stronger connections with their peers, the mentors were well-prepared to guide and support freshmen as they begin their university journey. We look forward to another rewarding year of mentorship, personal growth, and meaningful connections within the SBM community.
